Heather, I just wanted to write a quick note of thanks to you for an awesome cookbook! Eating right can be difficult "IF" you don't plan ahead, so your easy guide to quick, delicious choices is a true time saver. Some of my favorites are the Breakfast Protein bread (able to make ahead), Lean Turkey & Grits, Pumpkin Protein Pancakes and the Raspberry Almond Pancakes. I did not have raspberries on hand so used blueberries & they were still fantastic! The Wake-UP Chocolate Shake is a wonderful coffee flavored drink that gets you started out right or makes a great snack!

The entire book has great tips, suggestions, ideas, etc. to enable you to find that perfect snack or meal to fit into "your" schedule, rather than the other way around. I have never had results like this that actually attack the "fat" rather than just gauging everything by pound loss (even though that occurs as well). Heather's "Fat-Burning Recipes" book has been GREAT to have. The recipes are easy to prepare and do not take up all of my time in the kitchen. There are many that you can make ahead of time and then just warm up as needed. The recipes are also very tasty. This book is great to have if you are tired of the same old bland tasting food like I was. Also, the recipes are made up of everyday ingredients and not things that I can not pronounce or have no idea what it is! The most important thing for me is that these recipes have helped me lose body fat while eating healthy. Who is Heather Picken..and why should you listen to her?

My story..... How I struggled with my weight and lost unwanted weight & FAT forever!

I didn't always have the body that I do now....
When I was young I had always struggled with my weight and was always extremely depressed as a teenager. As a result, I developed an eating disorder, anorexia.

This left me feeling never good enough, unhealthy, and always hungry! At that young age I realized that was not good for my body or well-being so I started eating "normally" and then gained more weight than before.

I was again miserable and depressed! Not matter how hard I worked out, what diet I was on, or pills I took the weight never came off! I felt so awful that I can remember coming home after the gym and crying for hours and I couldn't stand to look at myself in the mirror. I was in so much pain that any relationship that I did have, never lasted because I was dating the wrong types of men that would talk down to me because I didn't have any self-esteem.

Then one day something happened, while I was dating someone who was a bodybuilder I went to his first competition. When I saw the women, with their sculpted and toned bodies I was in awe and asked myself "how can I look like that?"...but I had my doubts as I did not want to give up my Chunky Monkey ice cream or McDonald's cheeseburgers and fries. Something inside me said "Go for it"...and I did. And guess what.... I placed 3rd in my first bodybuilding competition...that feeling off holding my trophy on stage was wonderful as I had wanted for so many years to feel good about myself and my body! I went on to win an overall title as well as place within the top 5 of my competitions with both bodybuilding and fitness.

A few years later my passion to learn all the SECRETS about training and even achieving better results especially with women put me on the path to get certified as a personal trainer. I had the incredible opportunity to have one of the best mentors in the fitness industry! I took my expertise and worked in health clubs and then started my own personal training business. Over the past 10 years I have helped many women achieve unbelievable results and what is really exciting is that just about a year ago I started to focus on women over 30 since they were the ones whom I felt I could help the most! I understand all to well the pain we go through in not feeling we can achieve our goals.

I find as women get older they feel they have no control over their bodies.
